Tech for Merrily...

Tech is actually going rather well!  Everyone looks lovely and the show is a lot of fun. I'll post some show pictures when I can download a couple off of Facebook (it won't let me on Firefox and I can't get into it on IE).

We had some time yesterday, and Constance wanted to make up a 1960's hair tutorial for the actors and wardrobe....

Yeah, Jess and I were the victims.  Doesn't Jess look thrilled at her new look?

Amazing Woman

Here is one of the wonderful people we have working in our shop.
Dayna walked 60 (yep SIXTY) miles over three days to raise money for breast cancer research. We are so proud to know her. Our students teach us things every day.

Stagecraft class and random

Marilyn teaches buttons!

 Students practice zippers!

More students work on their best friends!

Sometimes, we're just desperate for wigs...

Of course there's blood in our fridge.  Don't you have some too?

Our New Mascot!

Our new creepy planter/mascot!  It appeared this morning on the windowsill; presumably it has come for our souls.  In an effort to appease it, we have decided it must have a name, and possibly sacrifices.  However, since fire is not ok in the building and the virgins and small children did not appreciate our attempts to placate our new overlord, a name it must be.  I'm leaving this up to you!  Send me your best suggestions for this creepy thing's new name, and we will vote on the best ones at the shop Halloween Party.

Reminder!

The Costume Sale is THIS Friday and Saturday!  Friday 12pm-6pm and Saturday 9am-1pm -- No previews and no early sales!  Everyone gets in at the same time and gets the same great deals!  Don't delay going -- the best things will go fast!

The Costume Sale!

You've heard correctly -- we're having a costume sale again this year!  It will be held in the Baker Theatre on Friday, October 21 from 12-6 and Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9-1.

Costume stock was massively overhauled over the summer, so there will be a TON of goodies that we have decided not to keep.  In addition to the everyday items that you might like to wear, there are also all sorts of items that will be a great start or addition to a Halloween costume -- and just in time!  Prices should be reasonable; however, we are cash-only, and these treasures are unlikely to last long, so come prepared!

We are also on the lookout for volunteers to help with sales, setup, and teardown; contact the shop if you are interested in helping.  (We can offer hours for MTA, MDA, and Stagecraft, but are unable to offer hours for Theatre and Society.)

Merrily We Roll Along -- the most interesting parts.

Mary's first fat suit (partially complete) -- just a few pounds around the hips.

Mary's second fat suit (partially complete).  Middle age spread + bitter alcoholic = consider yourself warned!

Since Blogger won't let me shift these pictures down and write on top...This is Caroline, the shop manager, taking the helm of Costume Shop Madness.  Hopefully I will be able to keep everyone up to date with the latest weird, funny, or simply interesting happenings in the shop.  I'd like to make this picture-heavy with things we are building, show pictures, and photos of student workers in day-to-day goings on.  Pertinent information will go on here too -- like the details of our upcoming costume sale!
